How to Get Here

By Road

From Hoedspruit town, our entrance gate (Balule York Gate) is a mere 10 kilometres. From there you will drive 7 kilometres on a dirt road, passable by the smallest sedan vehicle, to arrive at the lodge.

By Air

There are daily flights from Johannesburg, Cape Town and George to Eastage Hoedspruit Airport.

By Shuttle

Swift Kruger Shuttles operate daily, leaving OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg at 07h45, to arrive at the lodge in time for lunch & the afternoon safari. On return, the shuttle departs from Mohlabetsi after breakfast, to arrive back at OR Tambo Airport around 17h15. These may be booked directly with us.

Please note that there is a R250 entrance fee per vehicle plus R100 per person arriving at York Gate in Balule Nature Reserve. This must be paid by credit card directly at the gate.

The Mohlabetsi Team invites you to experience the magic of Mohlabetsi. Situated in the vast Balule Nature Reserve, which is part of the Greater Kruger National Park, this is Africa at its very best! A timeless place in the heart of wild Africa where nature rules and we are fascinated observers.

Mohlabetsi is the local African name for a small stream or “spruit” that flows here. It means “Place of Sweet Water” and weary pilgrims would be drawn to this wonderful location to enjoy refreshment.
