Gastronomy

Using Southern African recipes and locally sourced produce, we ensure that your Safari Experience will also include the finest cuisine along with superb Cape wines.

Breakfasts

Breakfasts are hearty affairs, enjoyed after the morning safari. Your Ranger will impress you further as he prepares eggs to order, served along with bacon, tomatoes and the speciality of the day. Along with this are an array of fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses and toast made with home-made bread. These are also convivial times, discussing the sightings and experiences of the morning together with your fellow travellers and Rangers.

Lunch

A late Lunch is served under the shade of a massive Acacia tree. There is always the chance of seeing animals coming to drink at the waterhole at this time, as well as having your bread pinched off the plate by a cheeky Hornbill or monkey. As this is the warmest time of the day, our menu selections are appropriate, with salads and cold dishes being the order of the day. Accompanying this is our freshly baked bread and a tantalizing dessert.

Dinner

Dinner in the Boma is always a highlight. As an eventful day draws to a close, our guests gather around a blazing campfire for their evening meal. Facing out towards the floodlit plains, there is always a chance of spotting nocturnal creatures for entertainment. The feast begins with the Chef or Ranger announcing the menu for the evening – freshly baked Potbrood together with a hearty soup or other traditional starter, followed up with a sublime main course, often prepared over the coals of the fire. And dessert may be a spectacular flambé, set alight with the help of a local liqueur.

Wines

Our wines are sourced from some of the Cape’s very best estates. Our personal preferences dictate the wine list but there is something for every palate. Plus, we keep an eye open for new offerings, especially if they offer exceptional value for money. These we promote as “Recommended Wines” and these will never disappoint.
